Laingsburg Band Boosters Driving to Raise Up to $6,000 with Drive 4 UR School Event

Test-Drive Fundraising Event Will Generate Much-Needed Money for New Instruments

The Laingsburg Wolfpack Band Program could be even more melodic after its Ford Motor Company Drive 4 UR School fundraiser before its homecoming game next week.

From 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at Laingsburg High School, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the Laingsburg Band Boosters for every person who test drives a new Ford vehicle.

The boosters are hoping to rally the greater Laingsburg community in an effort to raise up to a maximum donation of $6,000 for new instruments, specifically tubas and other large instruments which cost thousands of dollars, according to Thomas Cousineau, Laingsburg’s Director of Bands.

The boosters are partnering with Signature Ford of Perry.

Across the United States, vital arts, music and sports programs are being cut annually due to growing budgetary constraints. Today’s youth are missing out on valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge and diversify their interests. Signature Ford wants to keep these opportunities available for Laingsburg Community Schools’ students.

“We know funding for school programs is hard to come by, and we want to do our part to help make sure these programs remain available,” said Linda Falzon, owner of Signature Ford. “We’re excited to raise money for the Laingsburg Band Boosters once again.”

Laingsburg previously participated in this program to successfully raise money for new raincoats.

The event will feature many vehicles from Ford’s line-up.

“Whether you are looking to test one of our vehicles, such as the Focus, or want to try out technology features like active park assist in the Escape, we will be able to put you behind the wheel of your favorite Ford vehicle,” said Falzon.

Dealership staff onsite will be able to assist and provide additional information regarding any of the Ford vehicles available for a test drive. Pre-registration will be available through
laingsburgbands.com or people can sign up upon arrival. The band only gets its $20 if the driver completes the process, including the survey, so there will be a raffle for a free car detailing, donated by Signature Ford.

No purchase is necessary, according to Falzon. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance. The donation of $20 per valid test drive is good up to 300 total test drives, for a maximum total donation of $6,000 per event. There is a limit of one donation per person and one donation per household.

To date, Ford Dealerships across the United States have helped raise more than $40 million for local schools and
nonprofits through the Drive 4 UR School and Drive 4 UR Community programs.

Someone is overly concerned about Janice Smith's lawn; enough to drop a note in her mailbox, she said. It was an anonymous note, naturally. And it wasn't even close to courteous.
