Police Shooting Suspect Joshua Rosebush Captured In Shiawassee County After Shootout With Police
Man Believed Responsible for Shooting Saginaw Township Police Officer In Face This Morning, Shot By Police, Now In Custody

Joshua Rosebush is in custody. Initial reports indicate Rosebush engaged in a shootout with police in Shiawassee County, in the area of Lansing and Woodbury Rd., near Shaftsburg, and was hit. His condition is unknown. Rosebush was sought in connection with an early morning shooting of a Saginaw Township police officer.

Rosebush was wanted in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts in Tuscola County before being stopped by Officer Jeff Koenig at around 2am this morning. Koenig, a 16 year veteran, was shot in the face upon approach of the vehicle. Though seriously injured, he was able to radio vehicle information to dispatch. Koenig was rushed to an area hospital and later air lifted to U of M Ann Arbor where he is in critical but stable condition.
Authorities said in a late morning news conference that the truck Rosebush was driving when he was stopped was stolen. He fled, dumped that truck and stole another. Police released that vehicle's information, (white Ford F250, AIS Construction decals) but it was soon recovered at the Corunna Road Home Depot in Flint.
From there, authorities moved their seach for Rosebush to Shiawassee County, where he was captured at around 1pm.
