Perry Pulse launched on December 1st 2015. Our local news website just turned three years old!
There were 20,452 visits to Perry Pulse between January 1st 2018 and December 31st 2018 by an average of 1,346 unique visitors per month for a total of 26,151 page views (pvs).
These numbers represent a slight dip versus 2017 traffic.
The top three most trafficked months of 2018 were February (11,835 pvs), September (2,568) and May (1,692). There were an average of 2,179 page views per month.
We did expect to take a hit as we invested time this year redesigning and rolling out all new sites on the Mobirise platform. We also spent time launching our new podcast, Shiawassee Radio. We also expected number fluctuations as we moved from the previous analytics platform to Google Analytics.
A variety of reasons could potentially explain the decrease in page views. The absence of a big story that spread quickly or, simply, fewer pages to read -- those are just a couple. The silver lining is that, with the rebuild and months of learning and perfecting the new site design behind us, and an all new product to further connect our communities, 2019 is looking bright.
