Shiawassee Tornado Recovery Phase Initiated

Informational Community Meeting Sunday In Durand

Recovery phase efforts have started and resources, services, and information are being made available to victims and those willing to contribute or volunteer.

An informational community tornado recovery meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 17th, at 3:00 p.m. at Durand High School (in the cafeteria) located at 9575 Monroe, Durand. There will be a briefing on the impact of both tornadoes that occurred and the recovery resources being made available along with volunteer opportunities. Tables will be set up to register for assistance, volunteer opportunities, and community resources available to those affected by the tornadoes.

For those who have been affected by Thursday’s tornadoes and need assistance in anyway in Shiawassee County should call 989-743-2635 or email emd@shiawassee.net. This number may also be used by those willing to donate items or contribute financially to help recovery efforts. If anyone is interested in volunteering for inside or outside work they should call 989-743-2631.
