Victim Identified In Fatal Tuesday Crash on I-69

Morrice Man Perishes In Early Morning Freeway Crash

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on I-69 near Bath road.  Preliminary investigation shows that a Westbound pickup truck lost control, crossed the median and hit an Eastbound semi-truck, ejecting the driver onto the expressway.  A black sedan, possibly a 4 door, then came in contact with the body, but left the scene.

The deceased is 51 year old James Edward Ware from Morrice.

The Sheriff's Office is requesting that the driver of this sedan or anyone else that has information regarding the accident, to call 989-743-3411 ext 7223.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Perry and Laingsburg police departments, Laingsburg Fire department and EMS, Shiawassee County Road Commission, and Shiawassee County Central dispatch.
