A sloppy mix of winter weather is expected to impact the area beginning in the late morning hours on Wednesday. The National Weather Service says the real concern wil be the afternoon and evening commute, so the agency has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region, calling for around an inch of snow and less than a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation. We're going to take a closer look at Perry, Morrice and Shiawassee County.

Just as the advisory for the region suggests, we're seeing less than an inch of snow and less than a tenth of an inch of ice for the Perry area. More specifically -- about two one hundredths of an inch of ice accumulation and about two tenths of an inch of snow accumulation by Wednesday night.

The greatest chance for ice accumulation in Shiawassee County is our little corner - literally.  Most of the county probably won't see any ice accumulation at all.

With all that being said, despite this system not delivering much accumulation, there is still a concern for the storm's active hours, where precipitation will change from snow to freezing rain to sleet to rain and road conditions will truly be sloppy at times. Though there won't be ice accumulation to speak of, there will be periods during the storm's active hours where the roads are very slick.

The Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect and remains in effect until 10pm Wednesday night.
