National Weather Service: "Torrential Rainfall" Associated With Storm Headed Our Way, Creating New Flooding Concerns

A thunderstorm packing 30+ mph wind gusts and the possibility of what the National Weather Service is calling "torrential rains" is pressing toward Perry and Shiawassee County.  Pea-sized hail, cloud to ground lightning and the possibility of more flooding is all associated with this storm.

Shiawassee County communities that can expect to be impacted by the storm system include Perry, Laingsburg, Owosso and Durand, the National Weather Service says.

A convoy of an anticipated 60 trucks carrying hay, tools and supplies to farms and farmers in the fire-ravaged southern states including Kansas and Oklahoma left Morrice on Sunday afternoon to great and deserved fanfare.  State Representative Ben Frederick was on hand to see the drivers off.
